Officials urged to redress public complaints National January 30, 2021 BISHAM: Commissioner Malakand Division Zaheerul Islam on Friday urged the officials during his visit to Shangla district to redress the grievances of the people on a priority basis. He was speaking at a ‘Khuli Katchehry’ during his visit to the remote Shangla district. He heard the complaints of the people about the government departments, including Communications and Works, Education and Health. The people complained to the commissioner that the anti-rabies was not available at the hospital in Bisham and its solar system was also out of order. The commissioner also received a complaint about a water supply scheme which was left incomplete. The officials ordered the relevant authorities to solve the problems and mitigate the sufferings of the people.

Balakot residents raise multiple issues at public forum Peshawar January 29, 2021 MANSEHRA: The people of Balakot on Thursday raised at an open forum the various issues faced by them since long as the provincial and federal governments had failed to have them resolved. The forum was arranged in Balakot, the town, which was completely destroyed in a devastating earthquake on 8 October 2005. They decried the delay in the development of Rs13 billion new Balakot City Housing Project, appointment of teachers and other staff at the Girls Degree College, lack of potable water supply and other issues at the forum. “The government has acquired our agriculture land for the 880 megawatt Suki Kinari Hydropower Project in the Kaghan Valley but the company executing this mega energy project has not honoured its agreement with locals,” Mian Ashraf, a local leader of Jamaat-i-Islami, said.
